Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) said on Wednesday that the 15-day scheduled maintenance at its methanol plant is complete.

Accordingly, commercial operation at the methanol plant and the dimethylformamide unit, which mainly uses the feedstock produced by the former, will resume today, the company added in a statement to Tadawul.

Meanwhile, the paraformaldehyde plant will restart operations on Thursday.

Chemanol added that the periodic maintenance at its pentaerythritol plant was also finalized ahead of schedule. The plant was to have been shut for 26 days.

However, the financial impact of the shutdown remains unchanged as announced earlier.

According to the data compiled by Argaam, Chemanol had earlier expected to see a financial impact of nearly SAR 20 million from the shutdowns that began at both plants on Dec. 15.
