Saudi Arabia’s Saudization program has failed in some sectors due to lack of coordination between government authorities monitoring the initiative, labor minister Mufrej Al-Haqbani said on the sidelines of an event at King Khaled International Airport (KKIA) on Tuesday.
New measures are being taken by the labor ministry, along with other sections of the government to define the appropriate commercial sectors and activities that will be fully Saudized, Al-Haqbani added.
Last week, local media reported that the labor minister ordered that Saudis be employed in the entire mobile phone industry, covering sales, maintenance and accessories by Sept. 2.
The Saudization policy is aimed at employing more Saudi nationals in the private sector.
