Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has started producing gas from its offshore Hasbah field, the state-owned oil company said Wednesday.
Hasbah, located 150 kilometers northeast of Jubail, can produce up to 1.3 billion cubic feet per day (cf/d) of gas, while the nearby Arabiyah field will add another 1.2 billion cf/d. Gas will be piped to the Wasit processing plant.
Aramco plans to expand the production capacity of the Hasbah field by 2 billion cf/d and has already received four bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the project.
