Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems' gas turbine repair factory has launched on April 7 full-scale operations in Dammam, the company said in a statement.
Under a Corporate Procurement Agreement (CPA) with Saudi Aramco, the new facility will provide Saudi’s national oil company with gas turbine maintenance and repair, replacement parts, and remote monitoring. The plant will expand in the coming years, the statement said.
The plant will also service compressors and turbines delivered to Saudi Arabia by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), which has provided Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabia Basic industries Corporation (SABIC) with over 200 compressors and steam turbines.
Previously, repairs were handled outside of the kingdom, but “by performing these services at Dammam, services can be provided with greater efficiency and coordination with the client,” the company added.
