Saudi Arabia’s Jubail United Petrochemial Co (JUPC) plans to shut down its 700,000 tonne/year No 1 monoethylene glycol (MEG) unit in Jubail this week for a turnaround, ICIS reported on Tuesday, citing a source close to the company.
The source said the shutdown was rescheduled from mid-April to this week because the turnaround at Saudi Kayan located in Jubail was finished slightly ahead of schedule.
The plant will be offline for about two weeks for the planned maintenance, the source added.
