Arabian Cement pushes new mills launch to Q1-17

Arabian Cement Co. (ACC) said on Monday that it expects to start commercial operations at its new mills at Rabigh in the first quarter of 2017, as construction work is still ongoing.

In a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul, the company said the new mills were originally projected to go online in Q2-2016.

The company added that it is difficult to measure the financial impact of the mills, as this depends on market supply and demand.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a clinker line is still under study.

In April, the cement producer signed a SAR 362 million EPC contract with China’s CNBM International Engineering Co. to build cement mills for its production line at Rabigh plant.
