SABIC sets sustainability targets for 2016

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), one of the world's largest petrochemicals groups, said it has set out sustainability and efficiency targets for 2016.

 

The company’s priorities for 2016 and beyond are:

 

- To integrate sustainability into market-focused growth strategy by identifying challenges in key markets and creating a pipeline of solutions;

 

- To develop and implement metrics that provide more insight into sustainability and innovation performance;

 

- To accelerate development of differentiated products and solutions that are more highly valued downstream;

 

- To officially launch the “Home of Innovation” facility to showcase the company’s advanced solutions focused on energy- and water- efficiency, while delivering greater comfort, convenience, and connectivity;

 

- To investigate new technologies to reuse carbon dioxide (CO2) and other waste materials from one facility to serve as feedstock for other sites and increase resource efficiency.
