Sipchem runs acetic acid, VAM plants after maintenance

Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) is currently operating its acetic acid production plant in Jubail at full capacity after completing scheduled maintenance this month, ICIS reported, citing a company source.

The plant, run by Sipchem affiliate International Acetate Company (IAC), has a production capacity of 400,000 tonnes per year. It was taken offline on May 1 for a 15-day overhaul. 

Sicphem’s vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) production facility of affiliate International Vinyl Acetate Company (IVC) was not involved in the shutdown, the official said. The plant, which has an annual production capacity of 330,000 tonnes a year, is also operating at full capacity, the source added.
