Sadara Chemical Co. has signed a supply deal with Surfactants’ Detergent Co. (SDC) to provide ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) to the Saudi-Korean joint venture.
SDC is being developed by Korean technology provider SFC Ltd. and Saudi Arabia’s Ahmad K. Al-Amoudi Ltd. and Maydan Industry for Industrial Developments & Investment Ltd, Sadara said in a statement.
The consortium plans to build a chemical production facility in PlasChem Park, inside of Jubail Industrial City II.
The EO and PO will be delivered to SDC via pipeline. The company will use the chemicals to make detergents for the domestic market.
Sadara is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and The Dow Chemical Co.
