Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) hired 3,013 citizens and 346 expatriates in 2015, the company’s annual statement showed.
The major oil producer’s total employees hit a new record number at 65,266 last year.
Saudis accounted for 84 percent, or 54,666 of total employees, while expats represented the remaining 16 percent.
Last November, Saudi Aramco signed a memorandum of understanding with Princess Nourah University (PNU) and a national company to open the kingdom’s first women business park, the report added.
The project is expected to create nearly 20,000 jobs for Saudi women over ten years.
The center was established in cooperation with Tata Consultancy Services and General Electric (GE).
The company is taking other initiatives to develop entrepreneur skills through providing the required financial support and advisory services, it said.
