4 killed, 5 injured after bombing in Madinah

Four security officers have been killed and five others have been wounded in Madinah after a man blew himself up near the Prophet's Mosque, Saudi Arabia's interior ministry said on Monday.

The attack targeted a security post and occurred around the time of evening prayers in the holy city.

On the evening of the same day, a suicide bombing attempted to attack a mosque in Qatif, but failed and only killed himself in the process.

Security agencies are still investigating the two crimes, and a statement will be issued on developments.

Earlier on Monday, a suicide bomber was killed in and two security officers were injured after a man detonated a device near the US consulate in Jeddah.
