Ras Al Khair shipyard named after King Salman

Saudi Aramco’s shipyard in Ras Al Khair was named King Salman International Maritime Complex, Saudi Aramco announced on Tuesday.

 

The SAR 20 billion shipbuilding complex is a JV between Saudi Aramco, The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Lamprell.

 

The project is set to manufacture and repair mega oil tankers, ships, oil & gas drills, and marine platforms. The manufacturing and production processes are expected to launch between 2019 and 2021.

 

The shipyard was inaugurated today by the King.
