Riyadh Airport Co. plans to invite companies in February to bid for a license to operate the second cargo terminal at King Khalid International Airport, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.
The tender will help bring more foreign investments to the kingdom, and the cargo village is expected to generate jobs for citizens, said Abdul Rahman Al-Mubarak, the director of the airport cargo concessions department.
The cargo village is expected to provide top standards logistic service, in line with the kingdom’s Vision 2030, he added.
The kingdom plans to become one of the world’s top 25 cargo service provider, he said.
Singapore-based airport ground handler SATS Saudi subsidy has won a tender to operate the cargo handling license at King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam. The concession is valid for 22.5 years.
