Saudi Arabia’s banking system is secure from cyberattacks and the delay in disbursing the salaries of some employees is not due to any hacking attempts, Al Watan newspaper reported citing Talat Hafiz, secretary general of the committee on information and banking awareness.

Earlier this week, the kingdom’s telecoms authority warned organizations to be on alert for the Shamoon virus and Ransomware virus, which disrupt computers by wiping their disks clean.
