The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (Adco) has extended the deadline for firms to submit bids to install facilities at the Bab oil and gas field, MEED reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The deadline for technical bids has now been extended to April 14 from Feb. 14, while commercial bids are to be submitted in May.
Companies were invited to submit engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bids for the project on Dec. 22, it was reported.
Firms prequalified to bid include South Korea’s GS Engineering & Construction, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Samsung Engineering, and SK Engineering & Construction; Spain’s Intecsa and Tecnicas Reunidas; Japan’s JGC; UK’s Petrofac; and Italy’s Saipem.
The Bab Integrated Facilities Expansion scheme was re-tendered by Adco a year after the company cancelled a previous tender on the project.
The estimated budget for the new tender is $2 billion, from $3 billion previously, it was reported.
Adco is a joint venture of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, France’s Total (10 per cent), UK-based British Petroleum (10 per cent), Japan’s Inpex (5 per cent), and South Korea’s GS Energy (3 per cent).
