Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) has signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi National Automobiles Manufacturing (SNAM) that aims to increase aluminum content in cars manufactured at SNAM’s new automobile factory in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement represents the companies’ mutual interest in increasing the use of aluminum in the automotive industry as a strategic alternative to steel, Maaden said in a statement.
Last week, SNAM signed an agreement with Sadara Chemical Co. to work with SNAM’s auto cluster tenants, which will include automobile parts manufacturing companies.
