Saudi Arabia has invited investors to pre-qualify for bidding in the first round of projects under its $50 billion National Renewable Energy Program (NREP).
Companies will have until March 20 to submit their entries and the shortlisted companies will be released by April 10.
The ministry has launched an e-portal to ensure transparency and facilitate access to information on the program’s projects, the statement added.
Energy minister Khaled Al-Falih said last month that the kingdom plans to launch the renewable energy projects by 2023.
Under the first round, Saudi Arabia will develop 700 megawatts from renewables. A 300MW solar project will be developed in Al-Jouf province and a 400MW wind project will be developed in Tabuk.
