PepsiCo Inc. is looking to open one of its largest manufacturing plants in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this year, according to a senior PepsiCo official.
The plant will serve all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and manufacture PepsiCo products, like Mountain Dew, Pepsi and Mirinda, Gulf Business reported, citing Sanjeev Chadha, who is the chief executive Asia, Middle East and North Africa at PepsiCo.
The bottler and distributor for PepsiCo in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Industrial Beverages Co. (SIBCO) will open the plant for PepsiCo.
“The plant is going to be one of the largest in the PepsiCo ecosystem globally,” Chadha was quoted as saying.
He also confirmed that a new beverages plant will officially open in Dubai on February 27. The plant will be operated by the Dubai Refreshments Company.
At present, PepsiCo has 17 manufacturing plants in the GCC.
