Saudi telecom regulator, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), has awarded Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) phase I of the broadband coverage expansion project in the kingdom, CITC said in a statement.

The Saudi telecom operator is set to increase the high-speed broadband services coverage in the kingdom’s untapped areas to 70 percent by 2020 through boosting infrastructure investments, said Abdul Aziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, CITC governor.
