Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Citigroup’s chief executive Michael Corbat discussed potential mutual cooperation and future investment opportunities in the kingdom and abroad, state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The meeting was also attended by Saudi finance minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, along with top officials from Citigroup, during Corbat’s visit to Saudi Arabia.
The New York-based bank was recently in talks with the kingdom to secure a banking license, after a 10-year absence from the kingdom, Bloomberg reported.
The license would seal the bank’s return to the kingdom after winning a role as lead adviser on the country’s first international bond sale, which raised $17.5 billion last year.
