South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. signed on Thursday a SAR 1.6 billion deal with Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) to build a desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, Yonhap News reported.
Doosan will develop a reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination plant in the Red Sea coast city of Shuaibah, which is 110 kilometers south of Jeddah.
Under the deal, Doosan Heavy will construct the plant, designed for a capacity of 400,000 of water per day, on an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) basis.
