Saudi Arabia to launch new media center soon, says minister

Saudi Arabia will launch an information and media center soon, to promote cooperation with electronic papers, the Kingdom’s information minister, Awwad Al-Awwad, said on Wednesday without further details on the expected launch date.

The ministry just aims to enhance the role of media in national development rather than singing the praises of Saudi leaders, the minister said.

Meanwhile, Al-Awwad added that criticism should be based on facts. He also discussed proposals to develop the information industry, promote role of the new media authority and organize more workshops in this field.
