The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) will be receiving a new Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) worth $90 million on June 12 from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. (HSHI), Alarabiya reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
After receiving the VLCC, the company’s fleet will include 38 carriers.
Another VLCC is scheduled to arrive in July, as part of the agreement signed with HSHI to build 10 crude carriers.
In 2015, Bahri had signed an agreement with Hyundai Samho to build five VLCCs, with an option to build an additional five VLCCs, Argaam earlier reported.
The Tadawul-listed company received its first VLCC from this deal last February.
