Bawan’s JV in Algeria to launch production by Q2 2018

The commercial production of Bawan Co.’s joint venture in Algeria, United Technology Electric Co. LLC​ (Utec Algeria), is expected to launch by Q2 2018, Bawan said in a statement to Tadawul on Monday.

Construction at Utec Algeria is 70 percent completed, and the remaining work is likely to be finished by fourth quarter this year, the statement said.

Utec owns 49-percent of the new company, and Algeria-based Industry Technology Electric LLC owns 49 percent.  

Utec specializes in producing electric transformers, electric distribution stations, low, medium and wires and cables at an annual capacity of 24,000 units.
