Sadara Basic Services starts commercial ops at amines plant

17/07/2017 Argaam

Saudi Arabia’s Sadara Basic Services Co. on July 16 began commercial operations at its amines plant in Jubail Industrial City II, the firm said in a statement to Tadawul on Monday.

The financial impact of the plants becoming operational is expected to appear in Q3 2017 financial statements, the company said.

The amines plant has two separate facilities--the ethanolamines plant and the ethyleneamines plant--which produce chemicals used in manufacturing detergents, personal care items, textiles, plastics, cement, wood, gas, rubber, oil, asphalt, and pharmaceuticals.

The project is one of the 26 integrated manufacturing plants at Sadara Chemical Complex.

Sadara Basic Services is 100 percent indirectly owned by Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), in which Saudi Aramco owns a 65 percent stake, while US-based Dow Chemical owns 35 percent.
