Makkah’s Al-Faisaliah project will be carried out in seven phases and completed by 2050, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, governor of Makkah, said in a press conference Wednesday.
The project will include an international airport and a port. It will also house all government authorities in Makkah.
Several tourism and entertainment projects will be established on Al-Faisaliah waterfront, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
Makkah Region Development Authority (MRDA) will oversee the project, which will have an independent management, Prince Khaled added, calling on the private sector to participate in its development.
Al-Faisaliah will be located in the west of Makkah and extends to the Red Sea, said Hesham Al-Faleh, Secretary General of MRDA.
