Saudi Arabia has asked a U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday to dismiss it from 25 lawsuits accusing it of helping plan the Sept. 11, 2011 attacks, Reuters reported.
Riyadh said that the accusations were baseless, as the plaintiffs cannot show that the Kingdom or any of its affiliated charities were behind the attacks. It also said it deserves sovereign immunity.
Saudi Arabia is being sued for billions of dollars by the families of 9/11 victims.
In September 2015, a US federal judge had dismissed similar lawsuits against the Kingdom.
