Saudi Aramco has tendered the next phase of the maritime package at the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services in Ras Al-Khair, MEED reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The deadline for bids is Dec. 3 this year.

The phase comprises packages 4, 5, and 5, which involve the construction of dry docks, basins, piers, and utility buildings.

Earlier this month, Saudi Aramco signed a contract with a consortium comprising the Saudi subsidiary of Netherlands-based Archirodon and Huta Hegerfeld AG Saudi for dredging, reclamation, and marine structures.

The maritime complex is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), United Arab Emirates-based Lamprell plc, and South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., with an expected cost of over SAR 20 billion.

According to Saudi Aramco’s website, major production operations at the complex are expected to begin at the end of next year, with the complex reaching full production capacity in 2022.
