Gulf Union Cooperative Insurance Co. has received approval from Saudi Arabia’s Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) letter to issue health insurance policies starting today, the insurer said in a statement to Tadawul on Monday.
The decision is expected to have a positive financial impact on sales, the statement said.
The insurer was suspended from issuing health insurance policies in June, after it violated regulations by over-selling cooperative insurance policies.
