The Saudi cabinet approved on Tuesday distribution of dry gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for household and commercial uses, state-owned Saudi Press Agency reported.
The National Gas & Industrialization Co. (GASCO), which is the licensed distributer of LPG, is required to adjust to the new regulations within a period of 24 months.
Distributers of LPG will be given the right to use GASCO’s utilities on a commercial basis for three years through an agreement that should be approved by the Electricity & Cogeneration Regulatory Authority (ECRA), the news agency added.
Gas distribution networks in Saudi cities will also be implemented gradually in stages.
