Saudi Aramco licenses solar cleaning technology to local startup

12/09/2017 Argaam

Saudi Aramco has signed a technology licensing agreement with locally based NOMADD Desert Solar Solutions to develop and manufacture solar cleaning technology, the oil giant said on its website.

NOMADD, a technology start-up funded by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), will have the right to develop and manufacture solar array cleaning technology that was developed in-house by Aramco’s research and development team based at KAUST, under the agreement.

The technology will integrate with NOMADD’s fully automated waterless solar cleaning system.

NOMADD will also be able to distribute the technology in Saudi Arabia as part of the licensing deal, the statement said.
