Saudi Arabia's Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has ordered mobile operators to provide customers with a notification services for off-network calls ahead of a potential tariff increase.

Mobile operators are required to provide the new service by October 5, 2017, the telecom sector regulator said in a statement Tuesday.

Accordingly, users will be able to calculate on-and-off network voice calls and will be notified in advance of call rate hikes.

Subscribers will be optionally able activate the service, the statement added.
