Saudi Arabia is planning to set up public relations hubs in Europe and Asia to counter negative media coverage, according to a Financial Times report.
The Saudi information ministry aims to set up hubs in London, Berlin, Paris and Moscow, by this month, FT reported citing a document seen by the newspaper.
The program could be expanded to Beijing, Tokyo, Mumbai and other major cities from 2018, the document said.
The aim is “to promote the changing face of KSA to the rest of the world and to improve international perception of the kingdom”, the report said, quoting from the document.
The global hubs will produce press releases, social media content and invite “social influencers” to visit Saudi Arabia.
The hubs would also promote Saudi culture through art exhibitions and religious discussions.
