Saudi Arabia telecom regulator said it will lift its ban on voice and video call applications in the Kingdom as of tomorrow, Sept. 21.
The decision will include all applications that fulfil regulatory requirements, such as Facetime, Snapchat, Skype, Line, Telegram, Tango and others, Communications & Information Technology Commission (CITC) spokesman Adel Abu Hemid said.
The decision comes in line with the latest trends and developments in information and communication technologies. Operators in the Kingdom should now rely more on revenues from data and added services as is the global trend, he added.
