Saudi Arabia has issued an international tender to import 540,000 tonnes of barley for delivery during November and December, the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) said in a statement on Thursday.
The tender is the sixth one issued by the organization this year, the statement said.
The deadline for submitting bids is Sept. 29.
The cargo is to be distributed in nine individual consignments of 60,000 tonnes each. Six consignments are to be delivered to Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea ports, and the other three to the Kingdom's Arabian Gulf ports.
SAGO has already awarded tenders for 6.1 million tonnes of barley this year, the statement added.
The organization was assigned the task of securing barley feed imports for the country late last year.
