Waste Collection and Recycling Co. (WASCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO), has inaugurated a new waste sorting facility in Al Ahsa, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The facility will have the capacity to sort approximately 750 tons of waste per day, and includes a waste treatment department that handles large waste such as furniture.

The site also contains housing accommodation for workers, a maintenance workshop, and an administrative building.

WASCO collects over 40 percent of the Kingdom’s waste paper.
