State-run Saudi Ports Authority announced a plan to nationalize technical and marine jobs in all ports across the Kingdom, along with increasing dependence on local products in all contracts, Nabeel Al-Amudi, transport minister and SPA chairman, told Al-Eqtisadiah daily.
Companies will be encouraged to boost their investments in ports and introduce new services such as ship-building and repairs, he added.
The transport minister had earlier said that the third phase of Saudi port privatization program, which includes development of privatization contracts, will start in the next few months, Argaam reported.
