Saudi Arabia’s ministry of communications and information technology will not allow new telecom players to enter the local market in the current period, Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais, Governor of Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), told Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper on Monday.
Global service providers including US-based Amazon Co. and Facebook have applied to access the Saudi market.
Other applications were also submitted by global cloud computing service providers, Al-Ruwais added on the sidelines of the regional standardization forum.
