Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery (SASREF) has awarded a $95 million engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to US-based CB&I to modernize and expand its refinery in Jubail.
CB&I said in a statement that it has completed the conceptual design and front-end engineering design (FEED) phases of the project, while working with SASREF to optimise investment on the new refinery configuration.
“The relationship between CB&I and SASREF extends back for more than a decade, and we have been collaborating successfully during this time,” said Duncan Wigney, CB&I's Executive Vice President of Engineering & Construction.
SASREF is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Shell, two of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies.
