PayPal launches Seller Protection Program in Saudi Arabia

US-based electronic payment system PayPal has launched its Seller Protection Program in Saudi Arabia, the global firm said in a statement today.

The program allows local businesses trading online to remain protected from buyer’s claims, chargeback, and reversals on eligible sale.

The program may provide coverage to sellers against claims in case of unauthorized transactions or if the item was not received, and it covers both products and services traded online, the statement said.

Digital goods remain exempt under the seller protection program, it added.

“Saudi Arabia is making immense strides in technology and e-commerce, but many are still unsure of the risks associated with selling goods and services online. The PayPal Seller Protection Program allows merchants to trade online with greater confidence,” said Efi Dahan, PayPal’s general manager for Russia, Middle East and Africa.
