Al Tayyar Travel Group Holding Co.’s (Al Tayyar) board of directors on Tuesday approved the company’s strategic transformation plan that aims to enhance the company’s performance and long-term shareholder value, the travel firm said in a statement to Tadawul. Argaam reviews the key aspects of the plan:

- The company will focus on four main sectors – travel, hotels, supportive businesses and investments.

- The travel services along with the travel web platform will represent the main development vehicle of the travel segment.

- Al Tayyar will increase the budget for updating its travel portals in order to increase the gross booking value to SAR 3.75 billion by 2020, led by its brands Almosafer and Tajawal.

- It will also increase its exclusive online products to include services such as insurance and vacation activities.

- In 2018, Al Tayyar will renew a number of its travel branches across the Kingdom.

- A wider variety of services with reasonable cost will be provided to state employees.

- The company will develop its middle-budget corporate travel solutions.

- Hajj and Umrah plans will be developed to increase the number of visitors by 30 million by 2030.

- The company plans to develop and operate new hotels that target Gulf middle class markets including Choice Hotels, which runs international brands such as Comfort, Quality and Clarion.

- The supportive businesses segment will promote car rental activities, focusing on the business sector. The company said it has a good footprint across the Kingdom’s airports, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
