Mobile subscribers in Saudi Arabia up 1% in Q3

The number of mobile subscribers in Saudi Arabia rose 1 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 44.04 million in Q3 2017, with a market penetration rate of 138.7 percent.

 

Prepaid subscriptions accounted for 75 percent, or 33.1 million of total users, according to data issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).

 

Fixed-line subscribers reached 3.73 million in Q3, the data showed. The number of residential line subscribers stood at 1.94 million, accounting for 52 percent of total lines.

 

Meanwhile, broadband users rose 9 percent QoQ to 31.1 million during the quarter. Mobile and fixed-line broadband subscribers reached 28.2 million and 2.91 million, respectively.

 

The number of internet users in the Kingdom rose to 24.5 million, with a penetration rate of 77 percent.
