Citizen's Account has 500,000 registered users: report

Nearly 500,000 beneficiaries have registered for the Citizen’s Account Program as of Dec. 20, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing program’s general supervisor Ali Rajhi.

 

Those who have completed their registration before Dec. 16 will receive their allowances on Jan. 10, he said.

 

He added a citizen’s housing status – whether a property owner or a tenant – is not an eligibility criterion for the Citizen’s Account.

 

According to data compiled by Argaam, the first installment of the program, amounting to SAR 2 billion, was disbursed to beneficiaries on Dec. 21.

 

More than 700,000 families received allowances exceeding SAR 1,000.

 

The first installment included around 3 million families and individuals, totaling to 10.5 million beneficiaries.
