Seven regions have shown full compliance with Saudization requirements at gold and jewelry stores after two weeks of implementing the decision on Dec. 3, Khaled Abal Khail, the labor ministry's spokesperson, said.
The regions are Qassim, Tabuk, Najran, Al-Baha, Asir, Northern Borders and Jazan.
The ministry’s inspection teams, along with relevant authorities, conducted field visits to 5,960 shops to ensure adherence to Saudization across the Kingdom, recording 210 violations, Abal Khail added.
Last month, the ministry said Saudization at jewelry stores will be implemented following a two-month grace period that started on Oct. 1, Argaam reported.
The industry is expected to provide 20,000 jobs for Saudis when the nationalization program is fully implemented.
