Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) has started construction work at the Middle East’s largest network operation center, which aims to boost the company's strategy for digital transformation and service digitization.
The project, which will be located at King Abdul Aziz Telecommunications Complex in Riyadh, is expected to be complete in 2019, the telecom operator said in a statement on Thursday.
No further details were provided about the project cost.
The new facility will include intelligent control and operation of all network components, information systems and STC’s modern data centers in different regions.
In October, the company had inked a deal with Al Latifia Trading & Contracting Co. to build a four-floor network control center, accommodating 2,100 employees.
