Expat remittances from Saudi Arabia slip 1% in November

Remittance outflows by expatriates in Saudi Arabia edged down 1 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 12.02 billion in November, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

On a monthly basis, expat remittance outflows saw a decline of 2 percent, or SAR 184 million.

Remittances sent by Saudi nationals to other countries in November surged by 88 percent YoY to a two-year high of SAR 7.95 billion. Saudi remittances had earlier hit their highest level in November 2015 at SAR 9.02 billion.
