Saudi banks’ treasury bond holdings rose in November

Saudi banks’ investments in treasury bonds increased by around SAR 5.8 billion month-on-month (MoM) to around SAR 250.7 billion in November, new data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Banks’ treasury bond holdings rose by nearly SAR 72.3 billion during the first eleven months of 2017.

 

Meanwhile, SAMA’s foreign assets increased by SAR 8.9 billion in November to SAR 1.9 trillion.

 

Saudi Arabia’s finance ministry has so far launched four sukuk issues at a total value of SAR 47 billion year-to-October.
