Al Rajhi Company for Cooperative Insurance (Al Rajihi Takaful) on Tuesday temporarily suspended applications for the teachers’ medical insurance program, Okaz newspaper reported.

The insurer has stopped receiving new applications as it works on issuing a new policy, it said, adding that the mechanism will be announced at a later time.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Qeran Al-Ghamdi, Director of the Quality Initiatives Centre at the Ministry of Education, told Okaz that the teacher’s medical insurance program will not stop, Okaz newspaper reported.

Minister of Education Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa launched in March the optional health insurance program for education personnel in partnership with Al Rajhi Takaful.
