Petro Rabigh launches new production units

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh) said on Sunday it has launched production at ten out of 12 units at Phase II Rabigh project.

 

Production at the remaining two units will start in the first quarter 2018, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

 

Phases I and II will be operationally integrated within Petro Rabigh Industrial Complex following completion of all Phase II plants.

 

Production is set to start at Aromatics and EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) units in the first quarter of 2018 as per earlier announcement from the company.

 

The company said the financial impact of the openings will reflect as of Q1 2018. 

 

In December, Saudi energy minister Khalid Al-Falih said PetroRabigh II was set to start operations in the first quarter of 2018.
