Saudi Arabia to scrap 'guardian consent' rule for women visitors

11/01/2018 Argaam

Saudi Arabia will allow inbound women visitors, aged 25 years and above, to obtain visit visas into the kingdom without need for guardian approval or companionship, Arab News reported.

The government will grant single-entry, 30-day visas to inbound visitors without the earlier Shariah-based condition, Omar Al-Mubarak, director general at the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) told the newspaper.

The electronic system required for issuance of the new visa is under processing now, he added.
